Dear Shark Families and Friends,
Beginning Monday, December 15th, SPMS will be holding its annual food drive. This competition will run all week and conclude on Friday, December 19th. All donations will support the SPMS food pantry and The Locker Project, who partners with the South Portland School District to provide food assistance to members of the community.
This will be a school-wide, grade versus grade event. Students, staff, and community members are invited to bring NON-PERISHABLE food items to South Portland Middle School to support the grade of their choice (5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th).
Each day has a specific food theme:
Monday: Breakfast Items:
Suggestions: Cereal, Oatmeal, Breakfast Bars, Granola, Pop-Tarts, etc…
Tuesday: Soup ‘r Snack Attack!
Suggestions: Canned Soup, Crackers, Granola Bars, Applesauce, Goldfish, Popcorn, etc…
Just-Add-Water Wednesday:
Items that require only water to cook, such as: Pasta (and Pasta Sauce), Rice, Dried Beans, Mac & Cheese, Mashed Potatoes, Stuffing…
Thursday: PB & J All Day:
Peanut Butter, and Peanut Butter alternatives, Jelly, Nutella, Fluff…
Friday: Canned Goods (and EVERYTHING ELSE!)
Canned fruit, vegetables, Tuna, Chicken, and anything else that may not fit another category.
Food items will be counted, points will be awarded, and the grade that raises the most food will win the honor of being the 2025 FOOD FEUD CHOMP-IONS!
