2nd Graders utilized the outdoor classroom to explore chemical reactions by creating a pumpkin volcano.

All South Portland Schools will be closed today, Thursday October 26th, due to the ongoing search for the suspect in the shootings in Lewiston last night.

As the tragic shootings in Lewiston is ongoing situation, we encourage all families to follow the advice of law enforcement to stay safe at home until the perpetrator is apprehended.
We will closely monitor developments in the situation and will respond accordingly. We are in touch with the South Portland Police Department and will make a decision about the school day tomorrow, October 26th, in light of those developments.

South Portland High School (and ONLY SPHS) will have an early release today, Wednesday October 25th, because of significant plumbing issues.

In the Library this week 4th, 3rd and Kindergarten students collaborated to make a mural to brighten up the from entry of the building. The mural was inspired by the book Maybe Something Beautiful by Isabel Campoy and Theresa Howell which was based on the art of Rafael López. (Who also illustrated the book!)


1st graders are enjoying using the new assesment tools in Seesaw to check their understanding of Short A sounds during Phonics to Reading.



Starting on October 13th, Kaler Kindergarten classes will have monthly nutrition classes with the Opportunity Alliance!
