The HiSET® test is a high school equivalency testing program that will help you take the next step toward a college degree or a rewarding career. Your HSE credential will be accepted by every state, territory and  jurisdiction, as well as by the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. military, and federal programs.  

• Age: You must be at least 17 years old. You must have withdrawn from high school to enroll in HiSET®.

• Residency: You must provide a government issued photo ID and (if needed) one other form of identification with your  Maine address to prove you are a resident of Maine.  

• Fees: The HiSET program is free to Maine residents when taken through an Adult Ed program.
